Originally “Clippiacum” and its Gallo-Roman villa. In the Middle-Ages, a densely wooded site and reserve of wild game (Garenne), which explains the name of Clichy-la-Garenne. As of the Revolution, the economic activities increased up until the 19th Century, the beginning of industrialisation, in particular with Citroën.
